What is SEO? What does mean by on page Optimization and off page optimization?

SEO stand for Search engine optimization. Sometime people who are not internet educated wonder when they search on search engines and find plenty of results on Google. They get what they want. If they have business or website, they don’t know how to list their website on search engine result so their prospects can find them easily.

SEO comes into play here. The websites come on top 20 results for given term are highly optimized. When anyone search for given term search engine list those websites on top result.

In Google or Yahoo or other search engines, the result you get while searching for something is divided into two parts: left part and right part. Right part is mainly paid results. Websites pay for every click. This is called PPC or Pay per click marketing.

The result on left side is organic result. To get listed on organic result you need highly optimized and useful website. When I say useful, mean there must be useful content. Let me give you example.  If you are searching for term dry cleaning, and if you don’t get results related to dry cleaning, instead you get results from porn websites, then will you use that search engines again?  The simple answer is no. never again. Or in another scenario, people look for top 10 results while searching for anything. So if you don’t get what you need on 1st page then will you bother to go on 2nd page or you will jump on another search engine? I would say 90% of people will prefer to go on another search engine rather then going on 2nd page.

Now a simple question will be coming on your mind is how to get listed on 1st page so you can catch those 90% of people who never go beyond the 1st page while searching for something. This process of getting in top 10 results is called SEO and it is explained bellow in great detail:

SEO is not a process of cheating search engine spiders. SEO is organic process of building a link popularity of your website and providing very good quality content to your visitors. If your visitors don’t come back to your website just because you don’t have anything to offer what they looking for, then SEO is worthless. You will not be getting anything out of SEO.

Let me come back on topic of how to do SEO? SEO is divided into two parts.

  1. On-page optimization
  2. Off-page Optimization or link popularity building

Let’s have a look in these two options in great details. I will walk you through these options step by step and explain so you can try it yourself for your own website. It’s very easy. You might need few tools and programs but all the required tools and program are easily available free of cost to download. As we go through the process I will give you link of those tools where you can download free copy or trial copy of those softwares as well.
