Friends are commenting that my eyelashes are much noticeable these days. I'll be generous and share what I've been using to pamper my lashes :)

I have never really bother much about eye makeup when I was using spectacles. Just thought that it was a waste of time as nothing would be visible with the spectacles on, plus my upper lashes are so pathetic, short, sparse and with bald spots. Lower lashes are totally non-existent.

But now that I have finally gotten rid of the spectacles, I'm getting vain. My search for products that promote growth of lashes starts with Mavala Double Lash. It's available at Metro, Beauty Language and some shops at People's Park Complex. I paid about S$18+ for it. My upper lashes did grow a little longer after using it diligently for about one month but the bald spots remained. And if I apply too thickly it dries into flakes on the lashes. Quite an eyesore. Also, it's difficult to reach to the bottom or side of the glass bottle as the applicator is way too short, so there is some wastage. The gel tends to turn cloudy pretty fast. So out with Mavala Double Lash!

The next product I tried is Canmake EyeLash Essence. It's cheaper than Mavala Double Lash and easily found at Watsons. I used it diligently in the morning and before I go to bed and after about two weeks my lashes grew longer but they didn't really grow thicker or fuller. Still I'm pretty happy with the results, but the search for an even better one continues.


Ardell Brow and Lash Growth Accelerator is next on my list and I found it in Drugstore. After adding in shipping and postage to my home, this is even cheaper than the first two products. It's not sold in Singapore. It made my lashes fuller and longer and the bald spots are slowly filling up. This stuff works! But just like Mavala Double Lash, the gel has changed to a slight gluey colour about 2 months later, so I supposed it's lifespan is just like any mascara, to be discarded three months later.


Be cautioned: Both Canmake and Ardell will sting the eyes if applied too near to the lash roots! Also, these are just my personal experience. I am now alternating between Canmake Eyelash Essence and Ardell Brow and Lash Growth Accelerator day and night as they are both so affordable! My lashes are not really spectacularly long but definitely much better than before. I am finally having some fun with mascara! Someone even asked if I'm using fake lashes, lol.

The next product I may consider trying is Talika Lipocil Eyelash Gel. The price at S$60+ is rather expensive though.
